That Letter of James passage on the power of the tongue comes to mind…. and not just about fomenting trouble. Alarmist tweets and memes can spread fear as well, including those shared amongst church members. A Middlesbrough friend of mine helps lead a church 60% black, and their understandingly worried over-sharing upped the fear. Reminded of the WW2 slogan: ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’.
